Building Bright Futures: Grade 8 Report Card Conference

ABGS Middle School was proud to host our Grade 8 Report Card Conference, where we welcomed members of our community to support and mentor our students. Through meaningful conversations, students reflected on their academic progress, discussed their goals, and identified important steps needed to ensure their success this year and beyond. With a wonderful turnout, the event created a strong sense of support and encouragement. Our students left feeling empowered, equipped with a clear plan of action, and connected to additional resources to help them thrive.

ABGS Debate & Law Club in Action

Our ABGS Debate and Law Club students have been making waves across the region through their participation in debates and mock trials. With dedication and hard work, they have proudly represented ABGS, impressing judges with their well-prepared arguments and strong use of evidence. Beyond competitions, students had the incredible opportunity to meet Karine Jean-Pierre and attend a Women in Law Conference, expanding their knowledge and inspiring their future goals. We are so proud of our students for putting ABGS on the map and continuing to shine!

Thanks A Latte

Out Thanks A Latte event provided an opportunity for families and community members to gather at the ABGS Pantry, enjoy light refreshments, and connect with one another. The event promotes a sense of belonging while highlighting the school’s commitment to supporting the whole community and thanking everyone for their continued support.

Celebrating Success & New Experiences at ABGS

There’s always something exciting happening at ABGS Middle School! Our students had the opportunity to attend a Long Island Nets game through the MBK program, creating lasting memories and building community. MBK also launched a hands-on cooking program, giving students the chance to learn valuable life skills in a fun and engaging way. Back at school, we proudly celebrated our Student of the Month honorees, recognizing their hard work and positive contributions. In addition, several of our talented young writers were recognized for their growth and achievement. We love seeing our students explore new opportunities and celebrate their success!

MBK in Action: Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our MBK program continues to provide meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impact on our students. From trips to the supermarket—where students learn what it takes to plan and prepare a meal from start to finish—to engaging STEM activities that spark curiosity and innovation, MBK offers learning in many forms. Students also receive ongoing academic support, helping them stay on track and reach their goals. We are proud to offer opportunities that build life skills, confidence, and a strong foundation for future success!

Honoring Voices Through Innovation: Black History Month at ABGS

In celebration of Black History Month, ABGS students combined creativity and technology by using AI tools to design meaningful and personalized posters. Each poster featured powerful images and quotes from inspiring figures of color chosen by the students. Alongside their designs, students completed thoughtful writing pieces explaining why they selected each individual and the impact those figures have had on history and on their own lives.

Bullying Awareness and Prevention Assembly

Seventh and eighth grade students at ABGS Middle School participated in an engaging assembly on Bullying Awareness and Prevention presented by the Hempstead Police Department in collaboration with Fidelis Care.
